Six out of the sixteen schools targeted were covered during the last six months. Both environmental games and talks on environment related topics were organized in these schools. In addition environmental quiz competition was organized in one school where a large number of students participated. The Inspector of Schools of the Bongaigaon district was present in the quiz programme and he distributed the prizes among the winners. Students of two schools also visited the neatest wildlife reserve, Kakoijana Forest to study the flora and fauna of the area. Practical knowledge about how to identify plants, birds and other animals were given. They were also made aware about impact of degradation of forest on human and other fauna. The students were excited to observe the endangered and endemic Golden Langur along with other wild.

A booklet about the issues and problems of our environment (viz. Ami Kon Dishe?” written in local language, Assamese) has been published under the project that has received good responses from the readers.
