Title of the Project: Cattle Vaccination around Burhachapori Sanctuary and Nameri National Park, Assam.

Project objectives:

The principal objectives of this project is to inoculate free ranging cattle around Burhachapori and Nameri t minimize the risks of spreading HS and BQ diseases.

Project Update (June 2007):

The Early Birds, an NGO that has been involved in neutralizing communicable diseases from domestic animals to wild one carried out a vaccination and awareness camp around Burhachapori WLS during 28-30 April 2007. As many as 1397 cattlle were vaccinated against HS and BQ along with distribution of free medicines. This vaccination covered 5 villages around the sanctuary. A second vaccination camp is being prepared for the Nameri National Park immediately after the flood season (during September).
