In view of this Aaranyak is glad to announce the 4th Aaranyak-Rufford Small Grants programmes for the year 2012. We hereby are inviting applications from students, young conservationists and researchers for consideration of the Aaranyak-Rufford Small Grants awards for the current year (2012).

Student's Award
This grant award is intended to provide financial support to graduating and post-graduating students who are interested to carry out their mandatory field course. The proposed project must address issues related to conservation, research or environmental education in northeast India. Students must develop their proposal in consultation with their teacher adviser of the department/institution and the adviser should be one of the two referees required for a complete application. Proposals must contain:
- Background and objectives of proposed project.
- Methods of carrying out projects.
- Expected outcome of the study.
- A complete budget.
- A detailed CV.
- A letter of support from teacher adviser.
Incomplete application will be rejected right away.
Rs.5,000-15,000/- (maximum).
Graduating or post-graduating student who are interested in research and conservation of Biodiversity.
The students must be from an institution based in North East India.

Seed Grant
This grant award is intended to provide financial support to budding
conservationists who have already shown potential through various activities and has been able to attract attention of other experts. The proposed project must address issues related to conservation, research or environmental education northeast India and should contribute in a way towards solution of bigger issues. She/He must be graduate or postgraduate with some experience in conservation field, which should be reflected in their biodata and in the referee's statement. We encourage that the proposal be developed in consultation with an expert (who may also be the referee(s)). Proposal showing teamwork will be preferred. Proposals must contain:
- Background and objectives of proposed project.
- Methods of carrying out projects.
- Expected outcome of the study.
- A complete budget.
- A detailed CV.
- Statement from two referees
Incomplete application will be rejected right away.
Rs.25,000 - 40,000/- (maximum).
Budding conservationists who has already shown their potential through research and conservation activities.
The applicant must be based in northeast India.

Aaranyak-Rufford Small Grant
This grant award is intended to provide financial support to young conservationists who are in the early stage of their profession and have shown potential through impressive contribution in their conservation career. Should be very keen to become a professional conservationist in future. Project proposals for this award must address issues related to conservation, research or environmental education northeast India and should contribute in a way towards solution of bigger issues in the long run. S/He must be graduate or postgraduate with some experience in conservation field, which should be reflected in their biodata and in the referee's statement. We encourage that the proposal be developed in consultation with an expert (who can also be the referee(s)). Proposal showing teamwork will be preferred. Proposals must contain:

- Methods of carrying out projects.
- Expected outcome of the study.

Continuation Grant
On successful completion of a ARSG, having provided satisfactory feedback and a final report, applicants are welcome to apply for the Continuation Grant. The continuation grant is limited in numbers and this will be given on competition basis.
Rs.50,000-1,60,000/- (maximum).
Young conservationists at early stage of their profession and have already showed their potential through research and conservation activities.
The applicant must be based in northeast India.

Rapid Response Grant
This grant is meant to address SOS in biodiversity conservation in the Northeast India in such situations as flood, wildlife diseases, protected area staff emergency medication, anti poaching tool repairing, rapid EIA etc. Proposal may be submitted by individuals, NGOs (wildlife conservation), Forest officials etc. and must respond to a Conservation SOS call. A two page proposal summarizing the situations and justifying why it is required to be addressed urgently. A detail budget should be included with justification for the amount asked for.
Preferably Rs.50,000/- or less. However, if justified rightly the grant amount may be increased in situations that deserve so.
